Privileged Jurl

The CW (WB to me) is sucking me in with a new series called Privileged about an aspiring journalist who takes a job as live in tutor for two very spoiled, very rich girls who won't give her the time of day. Of course, Megan, the tutor, has a complicated past with an estranged sister and father. And of course, the two young girls are more complex than at first blush, with one being sweet and airy while the other is mean and angry. They lost both their parents as even younger girls and are being raised by their uber-rich grandmother played by Anne Archer (uh, her face is a little weird, now). This show has beautiful people, beautiful clothes, beautiful cars, and a bitchy gay chef. Love it!

It's a good alternative for those of us that like younger fare, but are disturbed my martini drinking, date-raping teens a la Gossip Girl.

I've listed it on Tivo, but we'll have to see if I'm still privileged when the real shows kick in later this month. If you've got nothing better to do it's worth a watch and it may even become a can't miss depending on story development.

I read the book on which this show is based and thought it was pretty good. So far, the show is following the book very closely. For now, I'm still staying tuned to both Privileged and 90210.
